A junior from San Antonio, Texas, Sam is majoring in Philosophy and Economics and living in the newly renovated Dillon Hall. A lover of the Republic of Texas, Sam is also involved in the Texas Club and spent a summer working as a Senate Intern for Senator John Cornyn in Washington D.C. As Grand Knight, he serves as the council's chief executive, providing leadership and ensuring that the council's many parts operate smoothly.
Deputy Grand Knight
A junior from Mishawaka, Indiana, Patrick is a proud “Juggerknott” from Knott Hall. He is a double major in Theology and French. He spent summer 2019 serving as a Totus Tuus missionary and is serving at his home parish, St. Joseph’s Church in Mishawaka, this summer. He also serves as the Master of Ceremonies for Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades as needed. As Deputy Grand Knight, helps make sure the council's regular operations go smoothly and with special projects.
Zack is a junior from Des Moines, Iowa, studying Applied and Computational Math and Statistics (ACMS) and Theology. He's a proud resident of Duncan Hall, which has resulted in what some may deem an irrational love of South Dining Hall. Zack enjoys watching/playing sports, reading a good book, and diligently getting his 9 hours of sleep. He'll be serving as the Warden, aka the Building Manager, for the Knights this year and looks forward to keeping our beautiful building clean and in tip-top shape.
A sophomore majoring in Physics in Medicine and minoring in French, Billy is from Hinsdale, Illinois and lives in Dillon Hall. As Advocate, he looks forward to leading the effort in bringing in new knights this upcoming year. He believes that every young Catholic man has a Council #1477 shaped hole in their heart.
Nicholas is a senior from Grand Blanc, Michigan majoring in Political Science and History with a minor in Constitutional Studies. A resident of Keough Hall, he previously interned with the Knights of Columbus Supreme Office. Law school bound, Nicholas takes good care of the council's finances and records. He is in his second term as the council's Treasurer and previously served as Deputy Grand Knight. Make sure to say hi to him in his office in the building
A junior from St. Joseph, MO (home of the saltine cracker!), William Gentry lives in Fisher Hall and is majoring in Computer Science. In addition to the Knights of Columbus, he is involved in the Militia of the Immaculata, Theology Club, SCOP, and ND's Latin Mass community. Will is passionate about evangelization, having entered the Church his freshman year. As Inside Guard, he coordinates the council's religious activities in conjunction with Fr. Brian Ching, CSC.
A sophomore hailing from Redlands, California, Christian is majoring in Classics and Economics. As the outside guard, Christian is dedicated to ensuring that the knights continue to have a strong presence in the Notre Dame community and beyond through both community service and engagement.
A sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky, Brenden is a Theology major looking to double major in either Sociology or Classics. He is notorious for wearing the exact same outfit every day without fail. As recorder, he handles the Knights communication including our Knights Weekly, the can't miss newsletter updating Knights of campus with all that is happening.
A senior from Ojai, California by way of Plano, Texas, David is an Economics major with a minor in History and a concentration in Financial Economics and Econometrics. Living in St. Edward's Hall, David was previously the council's Grand Knight. After a semester abroad in London, David is excited to be back on campus with his fellow Knights. As Trustee, David helps to lead and govern the council and is also the council's resident baseball expert.
A sophomore from, Brandon is majoring in Science-Business with a minor in Compassionate Care in Medicine. Brandon lives in O’Neill Family Hall, and is in charge of managing membership for the council. Working with Bill Kacey, he is looking forward to planning more degree ceremonies to help get more people at ND to join the Knights! A sophomore from LaGrange Park, Illinois, Ian Havenaar is a Computer Engineering major and resides in Siegfried Hall. As the Merchandise Chairman, Ian looks forward to creating quality new merch for the Knights to wear around campus and back home. Prof. Michael Pries
The College of Arts and Letter's Associate Dean for the Social Sciences and a popular economics professor, Dean Pries is focuses his research and teaching on macroeconomic labor markets and financial economics. A Notre Dame alumnus, Dean Pries provides oversight over the council's finances and serves as the council's faculty adviser with Notre Dame.
K.J. Martijn Cremers is the Martin J. Gillen Dean and the Bernard J. Hank Professor of Finance at ND's Mendoza College of Business. His research and teaching areas are investment management, corporate finance, corporate governance, corporate law, business ethics and Catholic social thought. He serves as a trustee helping govern and advise the council. The council's former Financial Secretary, Dean Cremers frequently stops by Steak Sales to cheer members on.
Fr. Brian Ching, CSC
A Holy Cross priest and a double Domer, Fr. Brian serves as the Rector of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and of Old College Undergraduate Seminary. Fr. Brian provides spiritual guidance for the council, helping to keep the Sacraments and prayer at the heart of the council's work. A Notre Dame alumnus who studied Economics, Political Science and Theology, Kevin works for Discover Financial Services. He previously held a variety of roles including Deputy Grand Knight and Vice Chair of the Supreme Council's College Advisory Board. Kevin serves as a trustee helping govern and advise the council in addition to helping with special projects. A longtime officer and jack of some trades, he's a self-professed master of none.
An Alumni of Holy Cross College and Council #1477, Andrew Weiss is a member of the Supreme Knight's Club for Field Agents and the Million Dollar Roundtable – the premiere association of financial professionals. He is responsible for providing guidance on the Financial and Fraternal Benefits of membership in the Knights of Columbus to its members.
